How to Procure Energy in Texas

When it comes to energy, Texas operates differently than other states do, which is why working with energy consultants like ourselves can take a lot of the guesswork out of determining the best energy solution for your company’s needs.

In Texas, companies can choose their own energy suppliers, but there are over 200 to pick from, each with different criteria. Our Houston-based energy consultants will help you shop among different suppliers in order to find the best plan for your business. What makes for the “best plan”? The right plan for you will be priced appropriately, have the right term length, and provides you with renewable or non-renewable energy depending on your needs and preferences.

When you are ready to look into better energy supply options, we will undergo the following process:

Step 1

Obtaining Information

In order to best meet your needs, we will start with you signing a letter of authorization to contact utilities and suppliers in order to better understand your historical usage. Alternatively, you can provide us with a copy of your most recent energy bill.

Step 2

Searching For Potential Suppliers

Once we have an idea of your energy history, we will look to a few companies that may potentially match your needs. We will provide you with the different options and their different rates for you to make the final decision. We work with the following energy suppliers in Texas:

Step 3

Choosing an Energy Supplier

Once you take a look at these different factors, you will be able to decide which energy supplier is the best for your company’s unique needs and energy savings goals. Next, we will provide you with the contract to sign.

Step 4

Leave the Rest to Symbio

Once your contact is signed, your work is done. We will sign you up with your new supplier based on the terms in your contract, which will take 2-3 business days. Afterward, we’ll make sure your power is turned on and there are no outstanding issues. If at any point throughout your term you have any concerns, we will be sure to coach you in how to handle them. We can even pre-plan contract renewal or set-up if you switch suppliers and/or sell your company.
